Play Renju vs AI: Master Forbidden Moves and Tournament Rules Offline

Welcome to the ultimate offline Renju training ground. Renju is the highly balanced, professional tournament rule set derived from Gomoku (Five in a Row / Wuziqi). Because the first player (Black) has a definitive mathematical advantage, Renju imposes strict restrictions known as "Forbidden Moves" (禁手) exclusively on Black. Our local AI engine is calibrated to enforce these rules in real-time, making it the perfect sandbox to sharpen your spatial perception and master competitive tournament play.

The Professional Balance: Black's Forbidden Moves

While the AI (playing as White) has no placement restrictions and can win by forming any line of 5 or more consecutive stones, you (playing as Black) must navigate the board with absolute precision. Playing any of the following moves results in an immediate foul and loss:

  • Double Three (3-3): You cannot place a stone that simultaneously creates two open, active three-stone patterns.
  • Double Four (4-4): You cannot place a stone that simultaneously creates two four-stone patterns.
  • Overline: You cannot form an unbroken line of six or more consecutive stones. For Black, 6+ is an instant foul loss, while for the AI (White), it is a standard victory.

Features of Our Offline Training Module

Our single-player module is custom-built to help you memorize complex defensive shapes and tactical layouts:

  • Automatic Foul Enforcement: Our engine dynamically checks every coordinate. If you attempt to make a forbidden move, the system highlights the spot and blocks the stone, helping you build immediate muscle memory.
  • Adjustable AI Difficulty: Select from Easy, Medium, or Hard modes. On Hard difficulty, the AI will actively exploit any gap in your defense and force you into positions where your only moves are forbidden.
  • Undo & Restart Controls: Stepped back to analyze a tactical blunder? Use the "Undo" button to retract moves and test alternative defensive branches.
